Nordstrom Rack Expands in North Texas
Nordstrom Rack is rolling into another city in North Texas. The retailer — the lower-priced version of the higher-end department store — is planning to open a new store in Murphy in Collin County, according to a statement on Tuesday. It’s slated to open in the spring of 2027.
It’s yet another addition to the growing lineup of Nordstrom Racks in Dallas-Fort Worth, where it’s grown to more than a dozen locations. Recent additions include Prosper and Flower Mound.
Expansion Plans
Nordstrom is investing in its Rack retail business as off-price stores gain momentum with shoppers amid economic pressures and evolving tastes. The company listed openings in several states in the past few months, including Arizona, Florida, New York, and Georgia.
The company now has eight traditional Nordstrom stores and about two dozen Rack versions in the state of Texas, according to a statement. It generates more than 3,800 jobs.
New Store Details
“We’re excited to grow our footprint in the Dallas market and introduce new customers to the Nordstrom experience,” Gemma Lionello, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a statement.
The new store will cover 25,000 square feet and will be at FM 544 and North Murphy Road. It’s located in Murphy Marketplace, where there’s already a Sprouts, Michaels, and Chick-fil-A.
