Neiman Marcus Unveils Fantasy Gifts and Holiday Book

Ready to ante up tens of thousands of dollars for that perfect holiday gift? Neiman Marcus has you covered. The luxury retailer unveiled its annual fantasy gifts and Holiday Book ahead of the busy shopping season. It’s the first time that Neiman Marcus has unveiled the anticipated offerings since it became part of Saks Global in a multibillion-dollar deal.

This year’s assortment of fantasy gifts tops out at $500,000, a step down from the more than $1 million pricing that last year’s lineup included. The most expensive option is a portrait session with legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, with a four-hour session in a preferred New York studio.

Or, for those who love horses and high fashion, there’s the Christian Louboutin custom saddle. It will run you $47,000. The colorful offering includes more than 17,000 sapphire-toned strass crystals.

Maybe you want to honor your furry friend in a special way? Neiman Marcus is offering a sculpture of your pet that’s handcrafted from thousands of crayons. It’s done through a partnership between Crayola and contemporary artist Herb Williams, as it transforms the likeness of your pet into a three-dimensional sculpture.

Holiday Book

Neiman Marcus is nearing the crucial shopping season after joining Saks Global in the merger that closed in December of last year. Prior to the corporate tie-up, the luxury retailer annually offered fantasy gifts in a tradition that dates back more than six decades.

This year’s edition of the Holiday Book covers more than 90 pages and features brands such as Bottega Veneta, Chloe, Gianvito Rossi and Tom Ford.

“The holiday season is full of wonder, and Neiman Marcus has an incredible history of transforming that spirit into something truly extraordinary to complement our customers’ discerning shopping preferences,” said Emily Essner, president and chief commercial officer of Saks Global.

Another fantasy gift is a nod to the downtown Dallas store, the site which avoided a shutdown earlier this year, at least temporarily, and whose future is still under discussion, Essner said in an interview last month. This holiday offering is a $135,000 Bugatti Baby II, a 75% scale reimagining of the classic race car.

“From the car’s bold exterior — inspired by the store’s distinctive awnings — to its limestone-effect dashboard recalling the marble floors that have welcomed generations, each detail is a tribute to refinement,” the product description reads for the gift that was done with Hedley Studios in the U.K.
