Introduction to Andreas Prime Steaks and Seafood
Gone is Morton’s The Steakhouse, a restaurant The Dallas Morning News called “one of the best” steakhouses before it ended a 37-year run in Dallas. Replacing it at the bustling intersection of McKinney Avenue and N. Pearl Street will be a new restaurant called Andreas Prime Steaks and Seafood, expected to open in November 2025. Andreas is named for its chef-owner Andreas Kotsifos, who spent more than 40 years working all over the world, including in Paris, Rome, New York, and Palm Beach Island, Fla.
About Chef Andreas Kotsifos
The Greek-born chef previously worked at The Palm, once an iconic power lunch spot in Dallas’ West End. Today, the chef operates a restaurant in Allen under the Andreas name, plus a diner and a bistro in Corsicana. He plans to open another Andreas steakhouse in Waxahachie in 2026. His coming-soon Dallas restaurant will open in a competitive steakhouse neighborhood, where Nick & Sam’s, Nuri Steakhouse, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Fearing’s, Perry’s, STK, and more are less than a mile away.
Expansion Plans
Kotsifos doesn’t know how many more Andreas restaurants he may open, but he does plan to keep expanding. “As long as I’m healthy, I will never stop,” he said. Andreas Prime Steaks in Uptown Dallas will be “a little more upscale” than the restaurant in Allen, its namesake told The News.
Menu and Prices
Steaks at Andreas Prime Steaks and Seafood include options for a file mignon (pictured), plus rib-eyes, New York strips, A5 Wagyu, and more. Kotsifos plans to add more Wagyu steaks and appetizers to the menu. Prices might average $150 per person, he said. Entrees will range from chicken Parmesan for $34 or so, to a filet mignon for double that.
Appetizers and Desserts
Appetizers will include lamb meatballs with sofrito sauce, a crab and avocado and crab, foie gras, oysters, and caviar. Best-selling entrees from the original restaurant will be on the Dallas menu, like beef Wellington, Chilean sea bass, and steak Diane, Kotsifos said. Bananas foster is popular for dessert, the chef said. The lobster bisque might remind diners of a reinvented version of the soup recipe Kotsifos served at The Palm.
Restaurant Design
While the restaurant on McKinney Avenue is transitioning from one steakhouse to another, Kotsifos said plenty of design work was needed to freshen the space. “You will not recognize the place,” he said.

Executive chef and owner Andreas Kotsifos poses for a photograph at Andreas Prime Steaks and Seafood in Allen in 2023. He’s expanding his restaurant portfolio to Dallas and Waxahachie in 2025 and 2026. It’s designed with peacock motifs throughout, and the restaurant is meant to feel like you’re “in Paris after dark,” he said.
Location and Opening Date
Kotsifos said he’d been looking for a restaurant space in Uptown Dallas for more than 10 years. When the Morton’s address became available, he said, “I jumped on it.” Andreas Prime Steaks and Seafood is expected to open at 2222 McKinney Ave., Dallas, in November 2025. The original Andreas Prime Steaks Seafood remains at 610 W. Bethany Drive, Allen. It opened in 2023.
Conclusion
Andreas Prime Steaks and Seafood promises to bring a new level of upscale dining to the Uptown Dallas area. With its extensive menu, elegant design, and experienced chef-owner, this restaurant is sure to become a popular destination for steak and seafood lovers.
