Introduction to College Football

The world of college football is always exciting, with new developments and surprises every week. Recently, there have been significant changes in the top 25 rankings, especially among teams from the state of Texas. This shake-up came after a wild weekend of games, leaving fans eager to see how their favorite teams will perform next.

The Rise and Fall of Texas Teams

The Texas Longhorns, who were ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press’ preseason poll, have now dropped out of the top 25 completely after losing to Florida. This loss marked their second defeat of the season. Similarly, Penn State, which was ranked No. 2 in the preseason, suffered a stunning loss to previously winless UCLA, causing them to fall out of the top 25 as well.

On the other hand, Texas Tech has seen a significant rise in the rankings. After beating the Cougars in Houston, they achieved their highest ranking since the 2008 season, landing at No. 9. Texas A&M and Oklahoma, both winners on Saturday, swapped places in the poll, with the Aggies now at No. 5 and the Sooners at No. 6.

The AP Poll

The current AP Poll reflects these changes, with Ohio State maintaining its top spot with a 5-0 record. Miami (FL) and Oregon follow closely, also with undefeated records. The full AP Poll is as follows:
