The North Texas Brown Berets, a civic activist group, had members visit the club Friday to help anyone who may have been there during the raid, Antonio Rodriguez, the regional commander, said.
They said witnesses in the club told them many people were detained regardless of their citizenship status, and the Brown Berets learned more than a handful were taken into custody by ICE, he said.

The Berets have been in contact with the family members of the people taken as they uncover more about the detainees’ whereabouts, he said.
On Monday morning, members of the Berets, including Rodriguez, visited the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas to officially report people the knew were taken from the club.
They first tried to make a report Saturday but said they were told to come back when the office was open.
Having the raid on a Friday night when many offices were closed, and courts and lawyers were hard to access, made things more difficult, Rodriguez said. He said maybe the timing was not a coincidence, however.
“Everybody was detained, everybody was separated and searched,” Rodriguez said. “That was a full raid assisted by the DPD.”
