Introduction to Assembly Icehouse
Assembly Icehouse is now open in East Plano. The nearly 5,000-square-foot venue near Spring Creek Parkway and Central Expressway was designed to feel like an “indoor-outdoor family room,” said Jacob Cox, CEO and co-founder of parent company Blender Brands.
“Living in the area with four children, finding restaurants where parents and children can all hang out are hard to find,” he said in a statement.
“Now, my wife and I can sit on the patio watching a game and have a good bite and within a close distance we can watch our kids play.”

Location and Development
Assembly Icehouse is attached to Assembly Park, a development from Triten Real Estate Partners that replaces the former Plano Market Square Mall.
Remember it? This east-of-75 mall was built in the early 1980s, according to a Dallas Morning News story explaining what was to come of the “old, tired” mall. (As a kid, I tap-danced inside this very mall every December for Christmas performances.) Plano Market Square Mall was eventually demolished, and a sped-up demolition video of it is oddly captivating.
Assembly Icehouse is part of a larger development in place of Plano Market Square Mall.
