At about 8 a.m. Tuesday, officers and fire-rescue crews responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of Parkwood Boulevard and Legacy Drive, the release said.

Police said a gray Kia Niro was traveling west on Legacy Drive, approaching Parkwood Boulevard, and a gray Ford Bronco was moving east on Legacy Drive.

When the Kia began making a left turn from Legacy Drive, it struck the rear driver’s side of the Bronco, causing the vehicle to roll over and hit two pedestrians on the sidewalk near the intersection, according to authorities.

Consequences of the Crash

Police said both pedestrians were transported to a local hospital, where one of them — identified as Barkat Ali Ismail — died and the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities did not release the identity of the second victim.

Neither of the drivers were injured in the crash, according to the release.
