On Friday, police named the suspect as 26-year-old Ladavian Kaliq Pearson from Plano.
The woman was found dead at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday after officers were called to the 6000 block of Water Street. An individual told police a woman might be injured at the location.
Investigation and Arrest
The woman was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.
At a news conference Thursday, Plano police said a suspect in her death was identified and later tracked to Euless.
A Euless police spokesperson said the department was notified at about noon that the suspect had entered the city and had an active arrest warrant for a murder charge.
Euless police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Fuller Wiser Road, and as police began coordinating their response, there was an “exchange of gunfire,” and Pearson died, police said.

No officers or civilians were injured, Euless police said.
The officer involved in the shooting is being investigated by the Euless Police Department, according to a Friday news release.
Police also identified the woman on Friday as 24-year-old Hammta Shafiye-Mogadam from Bedford, adding that her killing is still being investigated by Plano police.
The news release said Pearson and her were in a relationship, and it was not a random act of violence. It didn’t say what led up to her death.
