“The next few games are really far from my mind right now. A lot is obviously happening in our world right now, and I feel selfish that I’m sitting here talking about a soccer game and things that are going on in our world are happening, and lives are lost and at stake,” Quill said. “The devastation today in Central Texas is really probably at the forefront of everybody’s minds, it should be, and I think we should all say a deep prayer that God makes sense of this and we can all rally around each other to help whatever way we can, to piece this devastation together, and that’s what’s most important right now. Soccer is not life or death.”

Quill declined to say if anyone with FC Dallas directly impacted by the flood.
Local officials confirmed Saturday evening that they found 43 bodies through their search and rescue efforts — 15 children and 28 adults. More than 800 people have been rescued.
Around 27 girls from Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp in Hunt that draws attendees from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, were still missing as of Saturday morning, Kerrville city manager Dalton Rice said in a news conference.
Troy Aikman posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Saturday about the missing children.
“My heart is with the children still missing in the Texas Hill Country—and with those who have been found and heartbreakingly lost,” Aikman said in his post. “It’s impossible to put that kind of pain into words. I’m praying for the families still waiting, and for strength for those now grieving. Grateful for everyone doing the hard work to bring the rest of these kids home.”
