A handcuffed suspect was caught following a second chase after he stole a police Tahoe and attempted to flee on Wednesday, according to the Grand Prairie Police Department.
Kendral Pickett, 22, is facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, escape while arrested or confined and assault on a public servant, the police department said.

The incident took place at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, the police department said. The police located a stolen vehicle on Interstate 20, which led to a vehicle pursuit. The department said the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He was apprehended using a police canine and suffered minor injuries.
He was placed in the rear compartment of the police Tahoe without a partition for medical treatment.
“Prior to being treated, the suspect was able to shimmy his handcuffed hands from behind his back, below his legs, bringing them to the front of his body,” the department said in an email.
The suspect then jumped to the front seat and fled. Police chased him a second time and used spikes to disable the vehicle and apprehend the suspect.
