The TCU football team will open its 2026 season in Dublin, Ireland, against North Carolina in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, the school announced Tuesday.
The game will be Saturday, Aug. 29 at the 47,000-capacity Aviva Stadium, marking the first time the Horned Frogs have ever played abroad.

The 2026 Aer Lingus College Football Classic will be the fifth consecutive year that college football begins its season with a game in Dublin.

Connection to the 2025 Season
The Horned Frogs and Tar Heels will also open the 2025 season against one another on Labor Day night, Sept. 1, in Chapel Hill, N.C. for the debut of new head coach Bill Belichick.
“It’s a tremendous opportunity for our program and we’re excited to represent the university and our fans on an international stage,” said Belichick of the 2026 contest.
