Top Patios in Fort Worth

Here are some of the top patios in Fort Worth, where you can enjoy great food and drinks in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Heim Barbecue — the “river” location

We’re pretty sure barbecue was made to be eaten on picnic tables. And that’s what you’ll find in the backyard of Heim Barbecue. The bacon burnt ends are a must-order. Then, choose your own adventure: a brisket plate with two sides? A jalapeño-cheddar sausage corn dog? A double cheeseburger? All are good.

  • Heim Barbecue “River” is at 5333 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth. Unlike many of the restaurants on this list, Heim opens for breakfast six days a week, for tacos and biscuit sandwiches.

Joe T. Garcia’s

When Joe T. Garcia’s family opened a restaurant in Fort Worth 87 years ago, payments were made on the honor system and customers weren’t given menus. Much of that has changed today, but the homegrown love for this family-owned restaurant has not. Joe T’s suits anyone, at any age, no matter what they order or where they sit. (But, look: Order the fajitas and sit in the courtyard. Margaritas all around.)

  • Joe T. Garcia’s is at 2201 N. Commerce St., Fort Worth.

Maggie’s R&R

Do you have the kind of schedule where you can drink a $5 glass of wine in the middle of the day? Happy hour runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at Maggie’s R&R, a patio bar made for day drinkers. Dogs are welcome, too. Maggie’s has an extensive menu, with salads, Nashville hot chicken, fish and chips, and Buffalo cauliflower alongside bar classics like cheeseburgers and chicken tenders.

  • Maggie’s R&R is at 1264 W. Magnolia Ave., Fort Worth.
