Chicago police are investigating a series of burglaries across the Northwest Side after more than half a dozen businesses were targeted within about 24 hours. The incidents occurred between around 4:30 a.m. Sunday and 4:30 a.m. Monday, with the suspects breaking windows to gain entry and stealing items.<\/p>\n
In several cases, the suspects stole ATM machines, including one convenience store in the 3400 block of West Irving Park Road, where the ATM was ripped right out of the building. A similar incident occurred Monday morning at a grocery store on West Diversey Avenue in East Lakeview, where the suspects wrapped the ATM in chains and ripped it out through the front of the building using a red SUV.<\/p>\n
The suspects are described as two to three males wearing dark clothing, face masks, and gloves. They were seen driving a silver sedan and, in some cases, a dark-colored sedan.<\/p>\n
