A woman was killed and two passengers in the vehicle she was driving were hurt in a rollover crash late Sunday night in Douglas on the South Side.<\/p>\n
Around 11:05 p.m., the vehicle was in the 3200 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive when it rammed into the center median and flipped upside down, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n
The motorist, a 36-year-old woman, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said. Two 29-year-old men who were passengers were injured: one suffered a hip injury and was taken to the University of Chicago in fair condition while the other one was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.<\/p>\n
A third passenger, a 33-year-old woman, wasn\u2019t hurt but still taken to a hospital as a precaution, police said.<\/p>\n
Police did not say what caused the crash but the Major Accident unit is looking into that.<\/p>\n
The incident resulted in the loss of a life and injuries to several others, highlighting the importance of safe driving practices and the need for thorough investigations into the causes of such accidents to prevent future occurrences.<\/p>\n
