About 8:15 p.m., Kenliada Maressa Porter, 32, was found in a room on the 30th floor of the hotel at 369 W. Grand Ave. with gunshot wounds to her back and right shoulder, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
A Sunday autopsy determined Porter died of a gunshot wound to her head, and her death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n
Before finding Porter, officers initially responded to a call of a shooting at the hotel and found a 29-year-old woman shot in the neck in the lobby of the building, according to police and an incident report.<\/p>\n
That woman was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and listed in good condition, police said.<\/p>\n
Police are seeking a 35-year-old Iowa man with an extensive criminal background in the attack.<\/p>\n
Area 3 detectives are investigating.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.<\/p>\n
