According to Chicago police, a 23-year-old man is in custody after allegedly stealing a security guard’s gun and opening fire on the city’s Near West Side on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
The incident began when the suspect, who was allegedly refused to leave the building, and the security guard, who was working at the location, got into a fight. The suspect allegedly hit the security guard in the face and managed to get ahold of his gun.<\/p>\n
During the fight, the suspect allegedly fired a shot from the gun, but no one was hit. The security guard then fled for safety and contacted the police.<\/p>\n
Officers and members of the CPD SWAT Team responded to the scene and cleared the building before taking the suspect into custody.<\/p>\n
Authorities have not yet identified the man involved, and charges against him are pending.
