INDIAN HEAD PARK, Ill. \u2014 A man from Darien has been arrested and charged in a fatal crash earlier this week on the Stevenson Expressway, according to Illinois State Police.<\/p>\n
Joseph Hathaway, 60, is charged with aggravated driving under the influence involving death and aggravated driving under the influence.<\/p>\n
ISP said troopers responded around 3 a.m. Sunday to the fatal crash on southbound I-55 near northbound Interstate 294 in Indian Head Park.<\/p>\n
According to state police, a white Toyota taxi was rear-ended by a silver Acura in the center lane. The Acura became disabled and was then struck by a black Kia SUV, that was driven by Hathaway.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Acura was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the taxi was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Hathaway was also transported to an area hospital with injuries.<\/p>\n
