Music Promoter Charged in G Herbo Case Sentenced to Nearly 3 Years

A south suburban man, Antonio Strong, 32, of Orland Park, was sentenced to 34 months in federal prison for his role in the G Herbo fraud case. Strong was one of six individuals, including the Chicago rapper G Herbo, who were charged in October 2020 for defrauding numerous businesses and individuals.

The scheme, which took place between March 2016 and September 2020, involved the use of stolen and unauthorized payment card account information to obtain valuable goods and services. Strong and his co-defendants would use this information to purchase items such as private jet and yacht charters, luxury car rentals, and luxury hotel and vacation rental accommodations.

When the fraud victims disputed their charges, the businesses were not paid, leaving them with significant financial losses. Strong was ordered to forfeit over $2.1 million to pay restitution of the same amount, which will be divided among the victims.

To carry out the fraud, Strong used various fake names, provided fake driver’s licenses in the names of both fictitious and real people, and used email accounts in the names of fictitious and real businesses. This was part of a deliberate attempt to conceal his identity and perpetrate the fraud.

G Herbo and two of the co-defendants, Williams and Sorrells, were previously sentenced to three years of probation. Bender is scheduled to plead guilty next month, and Hayes Jr. is pending trial.

The sentence of Antonio Strong is a significant consequence of his involvement in the G Herbo fraud case. His actions had significant financial consequences for the victims, and his punishment reflects the severity of his actions. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting one’s identity and the consequences of engaging in fraudulent behavior.
