The current weather conditions are expected to change significantly over the next few hours. As of Wednesday night, the weather is expected to be clearing, cooler, and much less humid, with initially gusty winds diminishing. The low temperature is expected to be around 65 degrees, with cooler temperatures in outlying areas.
A few clouds will decorate area skies from time-to-time on Thursday morning, but overall, skies should turn mostly sunny by afternoon, leading to a picture-perfect late August day.

Afternoon highs should peak in the upper 70s to low 80s for inland locations, while areas near the lake are confined to the low/mid 70s due to a northeast wind off Lake Michigan.

Forecast 850 Millibar Temperature Anomaly; One Mile Above the Surface
We’ve shown this before, but it’s a really good proxy indicator of how temperatures will respond at the surface. Note the blue and darker blue colors here in the animation later this weekend and into next week. This is clear indicator that we’re headed for a markedly cooler pattern.
Morning lows with time will dip to early Autumn levels, dropping as low as the mid to upper 40s by Monday and Tuesday of next week.
