Wild Goose Moving To Former Fork Spot In Lincoln Square This Fall

Lincoln Square

Wild Goose

Wild Goose, a popular sports bar, is leaving its longtime North Center home and moving to the former Fork spot at 4600 N. Lincoln Ave. this fall.

Husband-and-wife team Andrew and Layna VanErmen have owned Wild Goose for 18 years. They decided to move the sports bar after they were unable to extend the lease for their current North Center location, Andrew VanErmen said.

The new location is larger than the previous one and has a separate dining area that will allow for private parties. The menu will still feature popular items such as burgers, wings, and fried cheese curds.

The proximity to Wild Goose’s established customer base made the Lincoln Square site attractive. While street parking will be more limited, the increase in foot traffic along that stretch of Lincoln Avenue due to its proximity to bus lines and the Western Avenue Brown Line stop should make up for that loss, Andrew VanErmen said.

Ravenswood

Sen Thai & Ramen

Sen Thai & Ramen has moved into the former Spoon Thai location at 4608 N. Western Ave. The restaurant features Thai and Japanese dishes, including spicy drunken noodles, fiery Thai basil chicken, and Japanese ramen.

Demo Brewing Company

Owners Lucas Irvine and Jeff Borders opened Demo Brewing Company this year in Ravenswood’s Malt Row. The nano brewery produces less beer per year than other beer makers, but this allows them to frequently change out which beers are on tap and foster experimentation with recipes.

North Center

The B-A-R

Couple Morgan LaPorte and Scott Deady are opening The B-A-R, a dog-friendly establishment, at 2457 W. Montrose Ave. The business will have an indoor dog park with an attached bar, which is a unique concept in Chicago.

The name of the bar is a play on how dog owners spell out W-A-L-K when around their pets. The business is expected to open this fall and will have what’s essentially an indoor dog park with an attached bar.

Conclusion

The Lincoln Square neighborhood is welcoming new businesses and saying goodbye to others. Wild Goose is making a move to a new location, while Sen Thai & Ramen and Demo Brewing Company are opening up shop. Meanwhile, The B-A-R is introducing a unique concept to the area. Stay tuned for more updates on the neighborhood’s changing landscape.
