Looking Ahead
Mild temperatures will be prevalent the rest of the week, especially for inland locations. There will be day to day lake breezes which will result in cooler temperatures for north shore communities and downtown Chicago/areas in close proximity to Lake Michigan.
The weather attention will then be directed to later Friday and Friday night. An intense spring storm system will deliver a multi-day severe weather episode to portions of the central and eastern U.S. beginning Friday and continuing through the weekend.
All modes of severe weather will be possible, including widespread damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail.
The Chicago area is currently outlooked for potential severe storms later Friday night into early Saturday morning.
The situation is being carefully monitored and we will have updates as we get closer.
