Cozy Corner Diner Opens 5th Location In Irving Park

New Location Brings Classic Diner Experience to Old Irving Park

The 5,000-square-foot restaurant at 4048 N. Pulaski Road opened on Monday, owner Peter Iatrides announced in an email. Customers can expect the same menu as the diner chain’s other locations. The restaurant will be open 6 a.m.-3 p.m. daily, Iatrides said.

Rich History in Logan Square

Cozy Corner’s original location in Logan Square opened in 1977. Since then, the diner has expanded to Hermosa, Edgewater, and Norwood Park. After a brief closure at the end of 2013, the original Logan Square location reopened in 2014 with new signs, renovated interior, and expanded seating.

New Location in Old Irving Park

The diner is located at the former site of the Salvation Army Irving Park Corps Community Center. Iatrides bought the property in 2018 to demolish the existing building and replace it with a restaurant, but those plans were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Construction and Delayed Opening

The city approved a permit in July 2021 to build the restaurant and add a parking lot, drive-thru lanes, sidewalks, utilities, and lighting. Work began last spring, according to city records and neighbors. The original plan was to open last fall, but those plans were again delayed until this week. Iatrides declined to answer questions about the most recent delay.

Conclusion

Cozy Corner’s new location in Old Irving Park is now open, offering a classic diner experience to the community. With a rich history in Logan Square, the diner chain continues to expand, bringing its signature menu and atmosphere to new neighborhoods.
