Roman-Style Capriccio Pizzeria, Nirvana Dispensary Coming To Lincoln Square

New Businesses

Four new businesses are opening in Lincoln Square, including a Roman-style pizza restaurant, a sustainability-focused cafe, an artisan market, and the neighborhood’s first weed dispensary. All could open as soon as February, owners said.

Capriccio Pizzeria

Chef Guillermo Paolisso is bringing his take on Roman-style pizza to the heart of Lincoln Square, taking over the former Subway location at the corner of Lincoln and Lawrence avenues. Paolisso’s dough goes through an extended fermentation process that allows for an airy, crisp, and fluffy crust, he said. The restaurant will also have salads, focaccia sandwiches, croissants, and other bakery items.

Nirvana Dispensary

Lincoln Square’s first weed dispensary has been in the works since 2022. It’s slated to open this winter in a former Core Power Yoga on Lawrence Avenue. “We’re not a vertically integrated dispensary, meaning I can carry whatever brands and products I want,” said Nirvana’s director of operations Sabina Lone. That means customers can expect a diverse range of products with potentially better deals than at other dispensaries, she said.

The Eco Cafe

The Eco Flamingo, which opened in 2020, is evolving into a family-friendly, coffee shop setting with the soon-to-open The Eco Cafe. The cafe won’t have compostable coffee cups; instead, customers are encouraged to bring their own cup or sign up for Forever Ware, similar to a few other coffee shops in Lincoln Square and Ravenswood.

Artisan Market

The owners of The Green Post and The Northman are teaming up with Backlot Coffee to bring an artisan market and cafe to the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Rockwell Street. The market will carry small-batch items from local vendors like Katherine Anne Confections and Pretty Cool Ice Cream, as well as beer, wine, and spirits. Fresh flowers and boutique glassware will also be available.

Conclusion

These new businesses are sure to bring excitement and variety to the Lincoln Square neighborhood. Whether you’re in the mood for a delicious slice of Roman-style pizza, a visit to a weed dispensary, or a sustainable coffee shop experience, there’s something for everyone.
