Bears have 14 players on injury report, but some are progressing toward playing vs. Giants

Current Injury Report

It’s normal to have a lengthy injury report this time of year, and the Bears have had more than a dozen miss practice time heading toward their home game Sunday against the Giants.

First, the good news. Wide receivers DJ Moore (hip and groin) and Rome Odunze (ankle and heel) were partial participants after missing practice Wednesday, and fellow receiver Luther Burden III (concussion) continued to practice in full. Players Given Rest

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and left guard Joe Thuney each missed a practice this week, but neither was due to injury. Both players were given a day off for rest.

Running Back Situation

Running back D’Andre Swift, who missed the Bengals game with a groin injury, was limited Wednesday, but full-go Thursday. Kyle Monangai started in his place in Cincinnati and rushed for 176 yards, but was limited Wednesday because of an ankle injury. He was back to full participation Thursday. Fellow backup running back Roschon Johnson remained limited by a back injury.

Other Injuries

Safety Kevin Byard missed practice Wednesday because of back and ankle issues, but returned partially Thursday.

Activation and Expected Return

The Bears also activated linebacker and special teamer Amen Ogbongbemiga on Thursday, and he is expected to play.

Concerning Injuries

The biggest item on the other side of the ledger is that linebacker T.J. Edwards remained out with hamstring and hand injuries. He already missed three games because of a hamstring issue this season. Additionally, nickel cornerback Josh Blackwell (concussion) and defensive end Dominique Robinson (ankle) were out Thursday.

McCaskey owned the Bears for more than 40 years and was involved in the organization her entire life. The team is playing with a commemorative patch on its jerseys this season in her honor.
