Next Few Hours

Extended Outlook
Chilly, unsettled weather to open the new month of November Saturday.
Saturday Upper Air Flow
A “pool of very cool air aloft” will be present nearly right over us. This pocket of cooler than normal air higher in the atmosphere resides 10,000 to 20,000 feet above sea level. It’s likely this will increase instability and contribute to the development of scattered showers at times on Saturday.

Showers will be present but scattered. This graphic depicts the scattered nature of the showers likely to come and go on Saturday along with varying sky conditions.

Saturday Temperatures
A cool start to November with highs generally peaking in the upper 40s to near 50-degrees, with readings dropping lower in and around the presence of showers.

Chicago Forecast Highs and Departure from Normal

Forecast Average Full Day Temperature Anomaly: November 6 through 12
A strong signal for warmth across the Western U.S., northern Rockies, and northern Plains. The only area forecast to be modestly below normal will be portions of the Northeast.

Forecast 7-Day Precipitation
Miniscule precipitation amounts forecast across the Chicago area and the Midwest while heavy rainfall batters portions of the Pacific Northwest and Central to Northern California as an “atmospheric river” pattern takes place.
