Summer 2025’s third heat wave is just days away from beginning
Forecast highs and how much above normal
Temperatures inch back close to 90-degrees on Wednesday following a one day reprieve. Each of the next several days are likely to post daily temperature surpluses.
Temperatures are forecast to top 90-degrees beginning Thursday and continuing through Saturday at least. The three consecutive days in the 90s would meet the criteria in this part of the country for a heat wave (three or more consecutive days in the 90s).

Above normal high temperatures are forecast over a large swath of the country, from the Midwest eastward to the Northeastern U.S.

No major precipitation is expected for much of this week, with only a couple chances for rain, one arrives on Thursday and another chance for scattered thunderstorms in the heat and humidity on Saturday afternoon.
