The Father’s Day weekend began with a fair amount of cloudiness, but a drier northeast wind flow off the lake from a high pressure to the north scoured out the clouds rather expeditiously and resulted in a fairly pleasant afternoon.
High temperatures warmed into the low 80s inland, but near the lake it was only in the middle 60s to near 70 degrees.
Lake Michigan water temperatures are slowly climbing, but still fairly cool.

Father’s Day will be sunny and warmer with highs in the 80s inland and in the 70s lakeside. There will be a slight chance of showers far north in the evening.

While much of the Chicago area could see totals in excess of 1” when each individual storm cluster is tallied, it’s likely some areas will see much more. Torrential rainfall is possible for portions of Iowa, Minnesota and western Wisconsin where totals of 3-5” is possible.
