We’re experiencing some big weather swings typical of spring in Chicagoland.
A warm swing heads our way Sunday and to start the coming work week.
Early-morning temperatures Sunday were already into the 40s, much warmer than the upper 20s we saw in the coldest locations early Saturday morning.
Sunday highs will reach the mid-60s, although it’ll be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, and lakeside areas will top out in the upper 50s.
It’ll also be blustery Sunday, with southerly winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour.
Monday temps are again projected to reach the 60s, then colder air swings back down from Canada by Tuesday, bringing with it the chance for some spring snowflakes (see more below).

The extended outlook calls for another shot of colder air moving in for Tuesday. Around daybreak, in fact, we could see a rain/snow mix, but sunshine comes out in the afternoon as highs reach the mid- to low 50s.
Wednesday calls for highs in the upper 50s, with partly sunny skies, then some showers and thunderstorms could return on Thursday, with highs back into the low 60s.
But temps trend down again quickly, with Friday and Saturday of Easter weekend seeing highs in the low 50s in the early forecast, with a mix of sun and rain showers.
