Quieter weather settles in. Becoming mostly sunny, continued a bit breezy with northwest to west winds sustained at 15-25 mph, gusting to 30 mph at times. Near seasonable early March temperatures. High: 42.

Looking ahead
The extended outlook calls for more clouds and continued chilly air on Friday, with highs again near 40 and a rain/snow mix likely for part of the day.
Saturday’s highs rebound into the mid- to upper 40s, then most of us will be near 50 on Sunday, with more sunshine.
Then, temps look to soar into the 60s for the beginning of next week.
As March progresses in Chicagoland, normal highs increase quite a bit from the first day of the month to the last day of the month. Daylight time also increases significantly, with clocks springing forward overnight this Saturday into Sunday.
