Felony charges have been filed against 22-year-old Tommie Coleman, a Pullman resident, in connection with the fatal shooting of two Chicago high school students in the Loop last year.

Coleman is facing a slew of felony charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm from an occupied vehicle, and one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Shooting Unfolded in the Loop
The deadly shooting unfolded near Madison Street and Wabash Avenue in the Loop just after noon on January 29, 2024. A dark-colored sedan and an SUV pulled up near the teens, and masked gunmen opened fire. The teens were both hit in the shooting and later died at the hospital.
Victims Identified
The teens have since been identified as 16-year-old Robert Boston and 17-year-old Monterio Williams, both students at Innovations High School.
Coleman’s Arrest
Coleman evaded police for over a year after the shooting, but authorities eventually caught up with him on Wednesday in the 5700 block of North Mason Avenue, in Jefferson Park, where he was taken into custody.
