For the fifth consecutive year, Cubs Charities is partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through service.
Packing a Punch Against Hunger
On January 20, over 160 volunteers, including Cubs player Pete Crow-Armstrong, will gather at the GCFD to pack thousands of meals for families in need across Chicago.
Youth Leading the Way
This annual day of service has become a meaningful tradition for Cubs Nike RBI players and their families. Since the partnership began in 2020, these youth participants have packed nearly 175,000 meals and contributed more than 2,120 volunteer hours.
Committed to Combating Food Insecurity
Cubs Charities has also provided over $200,000 in donations to the GCFD since the onset of the pandemic, underscoring its commitment to combating food insecurity in the community.
A Day of Service
Volunteers will convene at 9 a.m. at the GCFD’s facility on 4100 W. Ann Lurie Place, ready to carry forward a legacy of service that echoes Dr. King’s vision of equality and community empowerment.
