New York’s Prince Street Pizza Opens in Chicago
Popular Pizzeria Brings a Taste of the Big Apple to the West Loop
Chicagoans are no strangers to pizza comparisons with New York City. And now, a renowned pizza joint is bringing a taste of NYC to the West Loop.
Starting Thursday, Prince Street Pizza will offer its signature Sicilian “SoHo” squares and Neapolitan pizzas at 939 W. Randolph St.
Prince Street was founded in 2012 and opened its first location in Manhattan at 27 Prince St. With 13 brick and mortar locations now, the pizzeria can also be found in Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and other cities.
But does Chicago need another pizza spot?
Co-Founder and CEO Lawrence Longo Thinks So
“There’s nothing like Prince Street in Chicago,” Longo said. “Chicago is known for its deep dish and its tavern style, and we fit right in the middle of that.”
The Menu
Prince Street is known for its Spicy Spring, a Sicilian square featuring spicy tomato sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella. For vegan diners, the pizzeria offers an adaptation made with sweet marinara, vegan cheese, basil, and extra virgin olive oil.
The Neapolitan pizza lineup includes creative combinations like The Green Machine, which is topped with nut-free pesto sauce, shredded mozzarella, ricotta, and black olives. There is also the Oakey Smokey, which combines pizza sauce with smoked mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, basil, and extra virgin olive oil.
The Chicago Supreme
In a nod to local flavors, the pizzeria has partnered with Caruso Provisions to create the Chicago Supreme, an exclusive Chicago-style pizza loaded with pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, Caruso’s hot relish, and hot giardiniera, plus a distinctive touch – poppy seeds sprinkled on the crust for an authentic “Chicago experience.”
Opening Details
Prince Street is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and stays open later from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. They offer delivery exclusively through Uber Eats and Postmates.
Conclusion
With its first Midwest – Windy City – location, Prince Street Pizza is looking to deliver happiness to every community it sets forth in. That’s really what they’re trying to do – deliver happiness through their pizza.
