AMBULANCE STrikes 2 VEHICLES AFTER WEST ENGLEWOOD CRASH
Crash Details
An ambulance responding to an emergency call collided with a semi-tractor trailer before striking two cars in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood Saturday morning.
At approximately 11:21 a.m. the crash occurred near the intersection of South Ashland Avenue and West 63rd Street. Officials stated that a northbound semi-truck striking the rear of the Chicago Fire Department ambulance led to the sudden loss of control, causing it to flip onto its side.
Injured Parties
Luckily, the immediate aftermath of the accident did not result in a significant number of serious injuries, despite the destructive nature of the crash. There were three vehicle occupants who ended up at hospital facilities, reportedly in various medical conditions.
Firstly, one of the crash victims, the 64-year-old passenger involved in the accidental ambulance rollover, was discharged from the institution in good order. In all, two individual drivers of neighboring vehicles sustained reported injuries, having been transported directly to a specific medical facility based on their priority level.
- A 21-year-old and a 19-year-old took the trip alongside their cars through the medical wing. Both vehicle occupants, incidentally, returned home after treating their minor wound.
