Winds will also gust up to 25 to 35 miles per hour, then the rain should clear Chicagoland by mid-afternoon Sunday.

Looking Ahead

Monday and Tuesday are expected to see high temperatures around 40, with precipitation possible, to close out 2024. Then, colder and drier air is expected to move in for the end of the week to usher in 2025.

The extended outlook calls for showers returning late Monday. A rain/snow mix is likely for the last day of 2024 on Tuesday, with highs near 40. We then get into a new weather pattern for the first days of 2025, as we shift from warmer and wetter to colder and drier. The sun comes out, but temps drop, with lows getting into the teens and highs only in the 20s by the end of the week.
