A Soggy Friday Ahead to Round Out the Week
The week is coming to a close, and it’s looking like a soggy Friday is in store for us. As I, Emily Wahls, bring you your Chicago weather update, let’s take a look at what’s in store for the next few days.
Thursday’s Mild Start
It was a mild Thursday, with afternoon temperatures reaching the upper 40s. However, things are about to take a turn for the wet and cloudy.
Friday’s Rainy Day
A low-pressure system is approaching the area, bringing rain to the region during the day. Despite the clouds and rain, temperatures will still warm up nicely into the upper 40s. Scattered showers may linger into Saturday, so be sure to grab your umbrella and rain boots.
The Weekend Ahead
The weekend is looking mild, with highs in the lower 50s on Saturday and mid-40s on Sunday. Saturday will be cloudy, with a few stray showers possible. A better chance of rain will arrive on Saturday night into Sunday, mainly for the south suburbs and northwest Indiana.
Looking Ahead to Next Week
We may finally get a glimpse of some sun on Monday, before more clouds roll in ahead of Tuesday’s storm system. Monday will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy, with highs in the mid-40s. Tuesday will bring another chance of precipitation, mainly in the form of rain, but some wet snowflakes may mix in. Highs will be around 40.
Colder Air on the Way
Colder, more seasonable air is set to move into Chicagoland by the middle of next week. Wednesday will be partly cloudy, with highs in the lower 30s, and then we drop to the 20s for highs by Thursday.
