As the search for the gunman continues, officials from the ATF, in coordination with the Chicago Police Department and Cook County CrimeStoppers, announced Thursday that authorities are increasing the reward for information that could lead to the identification, location and apprehension of those responsible.

A $10,000 reward was already being offered for information, but Crimestoppers is now offering an additional $10,000, bringing the total reward to $20,000.

“This is a tragic crime, brazen and unthinkable to have occurred in the middle of the afternoon much less during the holiday season,” ATF Special Agent in Charge Christopher Amon of the Chicago Field Division said. “We are dedicated to working closely with our law enforcement partners and CrimeStoppers to locate those responsible and are also appealing to the public to assist in their identification.”

Authorities said the investigation into the shooting is currently being conducted in coordination with ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center of Chicago (CGIC).
