Man, 24, Shoots at Offender Who Tried to Rob Him at Gunpoint in West Loop Overnight
CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man shot at an armed offender after being held up at gunpoint overnight in West Loop, according to Chicago police.
Shooting Occurred in the 200 Block of North Morgan Street
Police say the 24-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 200 block of North Morgan Street at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday when a male exited a Ford SUV and demanded the victim’s property at gunpoint.
The victim then took out his gun and fired several shots in the direction of the armed offender.
The offender fled on foot, and the SUV, meanwhile, was riddled with bullet holes at the scene and eventually caught fire.
